Common Teasel Attracts Bees

The thistle is a bountiful weed in these parts and, at first, I took the purple flowers on the common teasel for a thistle’s colorful down.  When I saw this bee visiting it, though, I took a closer look and noticed the quite fierce, spear-like plant was quite different from a thistle.

This bee (perhaps a bumblebee, which I didn’t realize was a real differentiator) visited the common teasel, one of the last along this row that still had its flower.
